Error Code/Messages | Description | Application(s) involved | Solution Proposal/Explanation |
|---|---|---|---|
NO CONNECTION | This error message is displayed in the Channel Viewer of Just Control and indicates that there is a temporary connection issue between the Just Control and Just In Engine application (applies primarily to Just In Mac Pro). | Just Control/Just In Engine | Ensure that the Just In Mac engine application is running and that the IP addresses are correct as per the initial setup values. If the IP address of the host machine has changed then this has to reflect to the configuration as well. Please open a support ticket in case the problem persists. |
NO SIGNAL/No signal | Shown in the Channel Viewer and in the Messages section in the Just Control Inspector. This is generally the case when there’s no input signal at all or a wrong input signal is present. When using SDI this means that there is no incoming signal at all or a signal not matching the manually selected Video Format of the engine. For NDI based signals it means that the incoming IP signal is either not matching the manually selected Video Mode of the engine or in the wrong format (e.g., Progressive vs. Interlaced) | Just Control/Just In Engine | Use Auto Mode when the Video Mode is not persistent. |
METADATA | Shown in the Channel Viewer. You can designate certain metadata values as "mandatory for recording" (required=”1” within the <control> tag) of the StartUpXML definition file. Inside Just Control, you'll notice that required metadata fields are identified by an asterisk “*” symbol. The channel viewer will show a “METADATA” warning message to indicate the absence of required metadata values. | Just Control | Please enter or select any data or selection option that are marked with an asterrisk (“*”). Unless this is done the Channel Viewer will display “METADATA” and the recording will not start. |
WRONG FORMAT | Shown in the Channel Viewer | Just Control/Just In Engine | The WRONG FORMAT message is displayed when the source signal and the video do not match. Recording is disable. Change the video mode to Auto to circumvent the error message and proceed with recording. |

Format changed | Shown in the Messages section in the Just Control Inspector. | Just Control/Just In Engine | This message appears every time a video mode/format is changed when running the Channel in Auto Mode (e.g., incoming signal source changed from 1080i50 to 1080p25). |
Dropped frames | Shown in the Messages section in the Just Control Inspector. | Just Control/Just In Engine | |
Recording stopped | Shown in the Messages section in the Just Control Inspector. | Just Control/Just In Engine | When configuring a channel in the Configuration panel, you can enable the option “Restart on No Signal If Not Recording” to automatically restart the channel after a signal loss. Depending on the selected behavior—“Close container, write to new” or “Close container and stop”—the engine will either continue recording in a new file or stop the recording task entirely. |
