Version 2026.2 streamlines day-to-day capture setup, expands professional metadata and audio workflows, improves visibility during recording, and delivers a faster, more dependable configuration experience.
Enhanced Destination & Path Management
Destination setup is now faster and more intuitive, with direct Finder integration throughout the configuration workflow.
Finder Drag-and-Drop: Drag folders directly into either table in the Destination Presets tab. Dropping a folder into the preset list creates a new preset or adds the folder to an existing preset, while dropping it into the path list adds it to the selected preset.
Capture Inspector Quick-Add: Drag a folder onto the Destination Preset selection box in the Capture inspector group to create and select a new destination preset immediately. To protect an active workflow, quick-add is unavailable while the channel is recording.
Expanded Marker & Chapter Workflow
Just In Mac Pro 2026.2 adds more flexible options for storing markers through the Marker Presets tab.
XMP: Store markers as XMP metadata embedded in a MOV or MP4 container. When the selected container does not support embedded XMP, a sidecar XMP file is written instead.
Chapters: Write markers as native chapter tracks in AVFoundation MOV or MP4 files so they are visible in applications such as QuickTime Player. Chapter output is currently available only with AVFoundation containers.
Extended Audio Channel Support
Up to 64 Recorded Audio Channels: Selected codec and container combinations now support capture presets with as many as 64 audio channels.
Redesigned Mapping UI: The audio mapping interface has been reworked for efficient selection and routing from up to 128 input channels.
Developer & API Updates
Single-Marker Endpoint: The new
/ingest/addMarkerREST API endpoint enables lightweight, automated placement of individual markers from external workflows. Duplicate markers are checked to help protect MOV files that embed markers as chapters.
UI & System Polish
Clearer Recording Timer: The elapsed recording timecode in the multi-viewer now displays
--:--:--:--when the channel is not recording, making the inactive state immediately clear.Faster Configuration: Opening the configuration panel for the first time is significantly faster, and the redesigned Logs & Profiles tab stays responsive even on long-running systems with many log files.
Simplified System Profiles: The Logs & Profiles tab now focuses on saving a complete TOA System Profile instead of maintaining a potentially large log-file list.
